Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Acting Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar asserted the importance of Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) in supporting the abilities of the human resources in the comprehensive health insurance system for implementing comprehensive health coverage policies via training and improving the skills of workers.
This came during Abdel Ghaffar’s meeting with Chief Representative of JICA Egypt Office Kato Ken and his accompanying delegation to discuss means to boost co-operation in the health sector.
Abdel Ghaffar said that co-operation continues with JICA, adding that the meeting tackled means of co-operation between JICA and the Supreme Council of the University Hospitals in Egypt.
In a statement on Tuesday, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said that the meeting took up co-operation between the Health Ministry and Jica to support implementing the project of comprehensive health insurance with a total of 400 million dollars which will start in 2023.
Both sides discussed co-operation programme to support hospitals quality systems which started to be implemented in Many 2019 and runs until 2024 in a total of 50 hospitals in different governorates to improve the services presented to the patients, the spokesman said.
The meeting also tackled means to increase co-operation between Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the disease control centre in Japan.
