Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty asserted Egypt’s keenness on consolidating cooperation with Greece in all fields, in light of the extended ties and geographical proximity that helped in expanding the scope of the two countries’ interests.

This came during his phone with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis on Friday, said Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Ahmed Abu Zeid.

During the phone call, the two sides discussed ongoing preparations for their meeting in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly’s activities for consultation and coordination on the latest regional developments, topped by the Gaza crisis, the situation in Sudan and the Red Sea security, the spokesman said.

They also discussed special arrangements for the 10th tripartite summit with Cyprus in the coming period, the spokesman added.

The two ministers also discussed the developments of the Gaza Strip crisis and its regional repercussions. They agreed on the importance of working together to reduce tension in the region, the spokesman concluded.
