The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) announced the launch of the first-ever Arab Youth Media Creativity Summit under the patronage of the Arab League and the Egyptian Prime Minister.
AASTMT President Ismail Abdel Ghaffar stressed the summit’s role in fostering creativity and advancing the media industry.
“This gathering will be the largest of its kind in Egypt and the Arab world,” he stated.
The Executive Director of the SummitSally Gad noted that the event focuses on contemporary media challenges, including the implications of artificial intelligence, the impact of technology on journalism, digital security, and the mental well-being of media professionals.
The summit will feature interactive sessions, workshops, and a “Mediathon” competition for young Arab media talent.
The goal is to equip aspiring journalists and media professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in today’s media landscape.
“By discovering and nurturing young Arab talents, we aim to strengthen communication across the Arab world and promote ethical media practices,” said Gad.
The summit will bring together ministers, policymakers, media professionals, and influencers from across the region.
In a powerful statement of solidarity, the summit’s first edition will be dedicated to Palestinian youth.
“We believe in the academy’s role in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and commend their resilience,” Gad added.
The Arab Youth Media Creativity Summit will take place in October and will showcase a documentary highlighting AASTMT’s contributions to the Arab world.
