CAIRO  – The Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) has revealed the films to participate in the Critics Week competition, to take place as part of its 43rd edition, slated to run from November 26 to December 5.

Participating in the competition are seven films that will be making their Middle East and North Africa premiere representing countries from four different continents, Osama Abdel Fattah, director of the International Critics Week, said in a press release on Tuesday.
These films have only been shown in the official sections of several major festivals, and some of them have received important prizes, Abdel Fattah added.
First on the list is “Amparo Protection” directed by Simone Misa Soto, followed by “The dark heart of the forest” directed by Serge Mirzabekiantz; “La Civil” directed by Teodora Mihai; “The stranger” directed by Amir Fakhreddine; “Wild Roots” directed by Heine Kiss; “Blue Moon” directed by Alina Gregory; and “Vera dreams of the sea” directed by Kalterina Krasnicki.
