CAIRO – Egyptian Awqaf Ministry, in cooperation with concerned State institutions, allocated 600 outdoor spaces nationwide to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers that are held after sunrise to mark the religious feast celebrating the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

In a statement, the Awqaf Ministry said that within the framework of coordination with the State institutions concerned with managing the epidemic and health crisis, preparations are underway to make ready more than 600 open-air spaces attached to the major mosques for Eid al-Fitr prayers.

The Awqaf Ministry also directed to open the mosques’ doors at least half an hour before Eid prayers to welcome worshipers, the statement said.

The ministry also allows Eid devotees, who will flock over to mosques and prayer grounds, to accompany their children to bring cheer and joy to them, it added.
