Six Egyptian universities have secured participation in the EUSEEDS project, funded by the European Union and implemented under the Interreg NEXT MED programme, in collaboration with the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).

A statement issued Tuesday by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research said the project is coordinated by the AUF Regional Office for the Middle East and brings together a multinational consortium of institutions and partners from Egypt, Cyprus, France, Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine, reflecting the initiative’s international and integrative character.

The EUSEEDS project aims to establish specialised educational centres within participating universities to develop students’ skills, particularly in employability, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation, enhancing their readiness for local, regional, and international labour markets.

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour said the selection of Egyptian universities demonstrates growing international confidence in the country’s higher education institutions.
He added that it reflects the success of state efforts to internationalize education and to expand university participation in global projects linking education with innovation and labour market needs.

The selected Egyptian universities include Ain Shams University, Al-Azhar University, Alexandria University, Suez Canal University, Damanhour University, and Mansoura University, including Mansoura National University.
