Reaffirming its deep-rooted commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), Orascom Development, a premier developer of fully integrated towns, has announced a strategic collaboration with the Egyptian Food Bank Foundation. Together, they have launched a community-driven initiative to prepare and distribute 5,000 Ramadan food boxes filled with essential supplies aimed at supporting vulnerable families during the holy month of Ramadan.
Under the initiative of “The Longest Chain of Giving”, Orascom Development hosted a large-scale packing and preparation event at O West Sports Club. The event saw enthusiastic participation from O West residents of all ages, alongside the company’s employees. Participants worked side-by-side in an inspiring atmosphere defined by teamwork, compassion, and a shared dedication to serving others and offering hope.
This initiative aligns seamlessly with Orascom Development’s broader strategy to embed CSR into its core vision. The company is steadfast in its commitment to building sustainable, connected communities that extend far beyond traditional urban development. Partnering with the Egyptian Food Bank (EFB) serves as a powerful model of integration between the private sector and civil society organizations, ensuring that aid is delivered efficiently and effectively while fostering widespread social solidarity.
“This initiative is not merely a seasonal activity linked to Ramadan; it reflects our long-standing commitment to social responsibility as an integral part of our corporate strategy,” remarked Eng. Hazem Helal, Chief Executive Officer of O West, Makadi Heights, and Byoum at Orascom Development. “We believe that building truly integrated and sustainable communities requires engaging our residents in initiatives that create real impact, translating the values of cooperation and solidarity into practical action that improves the quality of life for the families most in need.”
“Our collaboration with the Egyptian Food Bank (EFB) reaffirms our commitment to working alongside leading institutions that possess the extensive experience required to manage food programs with the utmost efficiency and transparency. This ensures our support reaches those who genuinely need it and delivers a sustainable social impact. We are immensely proud of this partnership, which embodies our vision of building connected communities grounded in collective action and shared responsibility among all stakeholders.” he added.
Echoing this sentiment, Mohsen Sarhan, Chief Executive Officer of the Egyptian Food Bank (EFB), highlighted that the collaboration with Orascom Development represents a highly effective partnership model between the private sector and civil society. He noted that such alliances are vital for expanding the reach of food programs, ensuring they are executed to the highest standards of efficiency, and guaranteeing that vital assistance makes a tangible impact on the ground for eligible families.
