The joint Egyptian–Indian military training exercise “Cyclone-4” has successfully concluded following several days of intensive activities conducted at the Egyptian Thunderbolt Forces’ combat training units.
The training programme featured a comprehensive blend of theoretical and practical components aimed at unifying operational concepts and enhancing interoperability between the participating forces.
Activities included specialised lectures, a display of advanced weapons and equipment, and hands-on training in the safe and effective handling of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
The exercise culminated in a large-scale tactical simulation involving the assault of a terrorist stronghold located within a residential area.
Utilising helicopter support, participating units successfully executed coordinated operations that included hostage rescue, neutralisation and apprehension of hostile elements, and the evacuation and medical treatment of casualties.
Additional drills showcased advanced marksmanship capabilities under both static and dynamic conditions.
The performance of all participants reflected a high degree of professionalism, technical proficiency, and operational readiness, underscoring their ability to carry out complex missions with precision and efficiency.
This exercise is part of the Armed Forces’ ongoing efforts to promote the exchange of expertise and strengthen military cooperation with allied and partner nations.
The drill brought together elite commando units from both Egypt and India and was attended by senior rangers commanders, as well as the Indian Military Attaché in Cairo.
