CAIRO – The Egyptian Red Crescent said 423 trucks loaded with urgent humanitarian relief entered the Gaza Strip on Sunday as part of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to coordinate aid delivery to Gaza.
The 58th aid convoy under “Zad Al-Ezzah… From Egypt to Gaza” entered the Gaza Strip, carrying 10,000 tons of emergency humanitarian supplies, including more than 300,000 food parcels, around 540 tons of flour, over 3,000 tons of essential medical and relief materials, and approximately 1,800 tons of fuel.
Launched on July 27, the “Zad Al-Ezzah… From Egypt to Gaza” convoy has so far delivered thousands of tons of aid, ranging from food supplies and flour to baby formula, medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, personal care items, and fuel.
The Egyptian Red Crescent, acting as the national coordination mechanism for aid delivery to Gaza, has maintained a continuous presence on the border since the beginning of the crisis.
The Rafah crossing has not been closed from the Egyptian side at any point, with the organization remaining on high alert across its logistics centers.
To date, more than half a million tons of humanitarian and relief aid have been delivered through the efforts of 35,000 Red Crescent volunteers nationwide.
