Egypt’s State Minister for Military Production Mohamed Salaheddin spoke of the importance of constant co-operation between three entities to produce Egyptian-made electric cars to compete globally in quality and price.

During his first meeting since the cabinet reshuffle, Salaheddin laid out his vision of Egypt’s electric car manufacture with the co-operation with the Ministry of Public Business Sector and the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI).

Salaheddin’s meeting with Minister of Public Business Sector Mahmoud Esmat and AOI chairman Mokhtar Abdel Latif was held in accordance with directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to promote co-operation among state institutions in order to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development.

The Egyptian government believes in encouraging the private sector to participate in national projects and increase opportunities for investors, Salaheddin added.

Minister of Public Business Sector Mahmoud Esmat hailed co-operation with the Ministry for Military Production and the AOI to capitalise on resources and IT and human resources to strengthen local manufacture in different industries as per state-of-the-art global quality systems.

AOI chairman Mokhtar Abdel Latif said the electric cars are now a very important issue and that Egypt is capable of localising the technology of manufacturing electric cars.
