CAIRO- The second edition of Africa Health ExCon, themed “Your Gate to Innovation and Trade”, will kick off on Tuesday at Al Manara International Conference Center.
The activities will run till June 9, with the participation of more than 90 countries and 1,200 speakers.
The conference and exhibition are organized by the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply, and the Management of Medical Technology (UPA) under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
In statements on Monday, former health minister Adel Adawi, the chairman of the scientific committee of the medical conference and exhibition, said that the event is of great importance, highlighting Sis’s directives to make good preparations for it.
The conference and exhibition provide an opportunity for international and African companies working in the health and pharma business to meet together on an annual basis, Adawi said.
More than 316 sessions and 36 workshops will be held as part of the conference’s activities, with the participation of international experts, he further noted.
The conference’s activities include various sessions that will review steps to increase Africa’s capacity towards manufacturing vaccines and medicines, Adawi said.
Participants will also discuss the latest medical technologies to advance women’s health in Africa, in addition to the latest developments related to the Egyptian Reference Genome Project, he added.
The first edition of Africa Health ExCon, the biggest medical exhibition and conference on the continent, was held in New Cairo on June 5 to 7, 2022.
