Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsi and Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad discussed yesterday mechanisms for collaboration to implement the presidential initiative “100 Million Trees.”
This initiative aligns with presidential directives aimed at raising environmental awareness. In the coming period, there will be increased collaboration among the ministries of social solidarity, environment, and education to advance this initiative through various NGOs. This collaborative effort is expected to significantly impact the climate by contributing to afforestation projects near schools across the country.
The two ministers also reviewed strategies to strengthen co-operation in various fields. This collaboration is particularly pertinent given the substantial number of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) engaged in environmental initiatives and their various projects.
Talks also covered several key areas, including the conversion of agricultural waste into eco-friendly products, food production initiatives, support for the transition to a green economy, the promotion of smart agriculture, water conservation, safe waste disposal, and the exchange of expertise with research and scientific institutions.
