Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held on Tuesday a meeting to review several work files related to the Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company, attended by Mr. Ahmed Kouchouk, the Minister of Finance, Engineer Khaled Abbas, the Chairman and Managing Director of the Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company, Mr. Khaled Nofal, Senior Assistant to the Minister of Finance, Mr. Ali El-Sisi, Assistant Minister of Finance for the General Budget, and Mr. Walid Abdullah, Head of the General Budget Sector at the Ministry of Finance.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the government places great importance on monitoring the activities of the Administrative Capital Company and the projects and investments carried out through it, within the framework of the company’s efforts and its role in developing and managing the New Administrative Capital to become a comprehensive model of smart, green, and sustainable cities.
Counselor Mohamed Al-Hamsani, the official spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, stated that the meeting witnessed a review of some updates regarding the company’s activities in terms of various projects and services, including the projects and services in the diplomatic district, which features advanced infrastructure and upscale services that meet the needs of diplomatic missions, and is one of the largest projects in which the company is investing in the first phase of the New Administrative Capital.
During the meeting, the objectives, plans, and mechanisms of the Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company for long-term urban and spatial planning and enhancing the sustainability of the city were discussed, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
In this context, Engineer Khaled Abbas clarified that there are several activities that reflect the company’s commitment to achieving sustainable urban development, noting also the collaboration with several countries and its eagerness to transfer the experience of the New Administrative Capital, including the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to explore cooperation opportunities in creating a new urban extension for the capital Kinshasa, describing the Administrative Capital as a pioneering continental project that reflects Egypt’s leadership in urban planning, and affirming his country’s keenness to benefit from this pioneering experience.
The Chairman and Managing Director of the Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company also added that during his official visit to Madagascar at the end of June, an agreement was reached to form a joint committee to activate technical cooperation, transfer Egyptian expertise, and supervise the implementation of the New Administrative Capital there.
He also pointed to other international cooperation potentials targeting sustainable development areas, green building, and enhancing environmental sustainability practices.
Engineer Khaled Abbas also reviewed some recreational and educational projects, as well as artistic and sporting activities taking place in the New Administrative Capital, all of which support the vision of the New Administrative Capital project and its developmental dimensions.
The meeting also reviewed the various investments being pumped into the projects of the New Administrative Capital, the total job opportunities being provided, as well as the various service projects that have been activated in different districts, including the government district, and the company’s work plans for the upcoming period.
