US climate envoy John Kerry said Egypt is committed to building solar plants with an estimated combined capacity of 10 gigawatts in collaboration with the US, Germany and other countries.
He said Germany would offer a big loan in this regard, adding that Japan, Canada, Norway and the UK are all working with the European Union to reduce global warming emissions and limit the use of fossil fuel.
He said several local steps should be taken by each country, urging all countries to help each other to launch initiatives and apply needed mechanisms that can effectively contribute to curbing global warming.
He said the US is backing adaptation measures in several countries, stressing that adaptation needs huge sums of money.
