Engineer Mohamed Salah El-Din Mostafa, the Minister of State for Military Production, affirmed the commitment to implementing the directives of the political leadership to increase the percentage of local manufacturing, develop production lines, focus on investing in human capital, and apply principles of governance across the various entities affiliated with the ministry to ensure the optimal use of available resources and assets.
This came during the minister’s inspection tour of the Helwan Company for Diesel Engines (Military Factory 909), as part of his keenness to conduct regular field follow-ups of all companies and units affiliated with the ministry to ensure that the production process is proceeding properly on the ground.
The minister arrived at the Helwan Company for Diesel Engines at the employees’ reporting time to monitor adherence to working hours and the implementation of the daily production plan. He began the surprise tour by visiting several production lines and workshops in the company, where he inspected the production line for binding equipment and the headquarters of Al-Maasara Gas Metro Company, which specializes in manufacturing prepaid gas meters.
During his inspection of the production lines, the Minister listened to a presentation by Engineer Mahmoud Wahdan, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Helwan Company for Diesel Engines,” and the company’s work teams, who provided data and information about the execution status of production rates and performance during the previous period, the status of inventory, maintenance operations, industrial safety procedures, adherence to the scheduled timelines for completing ongoing projects, as well as the measures taken to implement the development plans within the company (Military Factory 909), which is equipped with production lines comparable to global standards and staffed with highly trained workers.
The minister also listened to the opinions and demands of the company’s employees, stressing that they are its true capital. He urged them to exert further effort and directed that all challenges facing the production process be addressed, and that an appropriate working environment be provided to improve performance and enhance the vital role the company plays in supporting the national economy and advancing local industry.
Minister Mohamed Salah issued directives emphasizing the need to follow occupational safety and health instructions and procedures, and the importance of training and qualifying new human cadres.
He stressed the need to work on attracting more investments and establishing new strategic partnerships with various state entities, as part of the Ministry of Military Production’s strategy based on continuous modernisation and development, localizing modern manufacturing technologies, and opening avenues for integration with various entities, foremost among them private-sector companies.
