Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el-Mulla witnessed Friday virtually the signing of an agreement between the universities of Suez and Future and the international oilfield services company Schlumberger for the training of Engineering College students at the two universities.
El-Mulla said the agreement demonstrates interest by his ministry and its foreign partners in the training and developing the skills of university students to prepare them for the job market.
This will come through practical training at work sites, the minister said.
El-Mulla added that this is a digital transformation age which makes it necessary for the next generation to meet the digital demand and be able to compete in the field of petroleum industries globally.
Schlumberger’s Egypt and Mediterranean Managing Director Karim Badawi said his company pays strong attention to the building of capacities among young professionals.
Schlumberger, he said, is pleased to cooperate with Egyptian universities in preparing a new generation of professionals who are able to compete internationally.
