Transport min.: Fruitful co-operation with Hungary

Egypt’s Transport Minister Kamel el Wazir underlined the importance of fruitful cooperation with Hungary in the transportation domain.

Wazir had talks on Tuesday with Hungarian Minister for National Economy Márton Nagy on means promoting bilateral cooperation.

He referred to fruitful cooperation between the two sides, especially cooperation between the National Railways Authority and the Hungarian Company Ganz-Mavag in a deal for supplying Egypt with 1,350 new passenger carriages.

He asserted that the Hungarian side is interested in cooperating with Egypt in the field of electric vehicles, underlining the ministry’s interest in eco-friendly transportation means.

He said that intensive talks will be held between Egyptian and Hungarian companies manufacturing electric vehicles within the framework of the ministry’s plan to localize transport industry in Egypt under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

The talks tackled means of cooperating in the field of amphibious vehicle, especially as the ministry is implementing a comprehensive plan for developing river transportation.

For his part, the Hungarian minister accentuated the importance of the meeting, stressing keenness on furthering bilateral cooperation.
