CAIRO – Trade exchange between Egypt and Jordan reached $728 million in the first nine months of 2024 against 637 million dollars in the corresponding year of 2023, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.
In a statement, the agency said the value of Egyptian exports to Jordan reached $546 million in the first nine months of 2024 compared to $498 million in the same period 2023.
Egyptian imports from Jordan reached $182 million in 2024, compared to $139 million in 2023.
Egyptian exports include fuel and mineral oils. vegetable, fruit, ready to wear clothes and vegetable oils.
Egypt’s imports from Jordan include fertilizers and pharmaceutical products.
Remittances of Egyptians working in Jordan amounted to $415.3 million during the fiscal year 2022/2023, compared to $792.9 million during the fiscal year 2021/2022, while the value of transfers from Jordanians working in Egypt amounted to $5.6 million during the fiscal year 2022/2023, compared to $9.6 million during the fiscal year 2021/2022.
