Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Admiral Osama Rabie, said navigation through the Suez Canal is moving normally in both directions. The canal continues to provide its services around the clock.

Rabie said that 56 ships crossed the canal on Tuesday. Their combined net tonnage reached about 2.6 million tonnes.

He explained that 24 ships were part of the northbound convoy. Their total net tonnage stood at around one million tonnes. Another 32 ships sailed in the southbound convoy, carrying a combined net tonnage of about 1.6 million tonnes.

Rabie noted that decisions by some major shipping lines to suspend transit through the canal remain temporary. The move, he said, depends largely on the security situation in the region.
The authority is continuing to communicate with its clients and major shipping lines. Coordination is ongoing to support global trade and help maintain stable supply chains.

Rabie also expressed hope that security conditions will improve in the coming period. Stability, he said, is essential for the freedom of navigation across the region.
In the past three days alone, the canal recorded the transit of 100 ships. Their combined net tonnage reached about 3.8 million tonnes.
