SOKHNA/SUEZ, Egypt – The General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) announced that foundation stone of a Chinese factory for manufacturing home appliances has been laid in the prominent modernized industrial city in the industrial zone in Sokhna with investments worth 12 million dollars.
In a statement recently, the SCZONE said that the factory of is to be built on an area of 26,000 square meters and provide 300 job opportunities including 90% for Egyptian labor.
The construction work of the Chinese Vanward company project will end within 9 months, the statement said.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by SCZONE Chairman Walid Gamaleldin and the company’s chairman.
The factory project reflects the similarity of visions between Egypt and China in the economic development field to serve benefit of their peoples, Gamaleldin said in his word on the occasion.
He commended Egypt TEDA for its cooperation with SCZONE to attract more investments to contribute to developing the economic zone and opening new markets for the Chinese investments.
The project is a new addition to the home appliance manufacturing technology in Egypt, according to him.
