The closing ceremony of ‘Makadi Heights Football Cup’ (MHFC) for both men and women was held in Makadi Heights, the fully integrated town by Orascom Development in the Red Sea governorate, from the 18th – 20th of March. Aiming to promote tourism in Egypt, the tournament was honored by the attendance of Engineer Ahmed Youssef CEO of Egypt Tourism Authority,General Ehab Rashad representing theGovernor of the Red Sea governorate; Doctor Amr Mamdouh, Director of the International Sports Cooperation Department of the General Administration of Tourism and Sports Events at the Ministry of Youth and Sports; and Farag Abdel Maqsoud, General Manager of the Youth and Sports Doctorate of theRed Sea.
The representatives, alongside Tamer Dewidar, the CEO of Makadi Heights awarded MHFC winners with the attendance of Egypt’s most famous superstars and football players such as Emad Meteb, Essam El-Hadary, Karim Fahmy, Hesham Maged, and Nader Hamdy who played a friendly match with the winning team.
Tamer Dewidar, CEO of Makadi Heights, expressed his happiness with the great success and presence witnessed at the tournament, andpraised the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Egypt Tourism Authority, and the Red Sea Governorate their role in supporting the tournament and providing allneeded facilities.
“Over 400 players aged 18 years and older, with more than 30 men and 10 women football teams, participated in the Makadi Heights Football Cup, whichwas kicked off in Al Gezira Sports Club from 27- 28 February; and in Maadi Club from 12- 13 March,” Added Dewidar.
Dewidar continued: “We are organizing several events in Makadi Heights during the upcoming summer, especially after the success of MHFC firsthand. Given the infrastructure, massive landscape, distinctive services and fine weather; it’s definitely the perfect town to accommodate different events.”
