ES to supervise implementation of AHI International’s factory

AHI International, the specialised company in the industrial sector, has contracted with the Engineering solutions “ES” for green and sustainable buildings to supervise the implementation of its new factory in the Egyptian market in the industrial zone of 6th of October City, according to sustainability standards and green building, with investments of 150 million pounds.

The engineering consultant, Amgad Khattab, CEO of “ES” Company for Green and Sustainable Buildings, said that the factory is dedicated to the paper industry and is built on a total area of 20,000 square metres, and the construction area of the project is 15,000 square metres.

Khattab clarified that the ECG Consulting Engineers group is undertaking the tasks of a general consultant for the project, and it is scheduled to complete the implementation of the factory’s sustainability work by the end of this year, according to the implementation timetable.

Khattab added that the project comes within several contracts recently concluded by the company in the industrial sector and industrial facilities, where the company works in parallel with the expansion of real estate projects, which aims to “ES” for green and sustainable buildings, the growth of its business volume in this sector, to reach its total contracts of 2 billion pounds by the end of 2021.

The CEO pointed out to the industrial projects that the company is supervising their implementation in the Egyptian market, representing 40% of the total portfolio of projects, while real estate projects, especially administrative, commercial and hotel projects, account for 60%.

He continued that “ES” company for green buildings aims to add new types of green and sustainable building certificates, including the EDGE certificate issued by the World Bank, as well as the WELL certificate, which is concerned with the levels of psychological comfort for residents and building owners.

Khattab stated that the company is trying to introduce the EDGE system in residential projects instead of LEED for ease of implementation in the field of sustainability and green building in the residential sector, which still needs to expand in this type of projects.
