CAIRO – Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said that 2024 will witness a complete recovery from all the consequences of the economic crisis being witnessed by the country.
During a press conference, the premier said that the price trend is on a downward trajectory and will continue this way in the coming period, given the stable political conditions, foreign currency availability and having factories operating at full capacity.
The local market prices of 300 commodities, and soon a thousand ones, are being monitored in each governorate, he said, noting that some remote governorates still have prices higher than the average recorded in others.
The prime minister stressed the importance of the citizen’s role in reporting places that sell goods at higher than the declared price average, so that action can be taken immediately against them.
He praised the large outlets established by the Armed Forces and the Interior Ministry during the month of Ramadan and the cooperative societies affiliated with the Ministry of Supply and Trade to offer commodities to shoppers at affordable prices.
