CAIRO – Egypt’s Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Tarek el Molla held a series of meetings with a number of international mining companies.
The meetings were held at the end of Egypt Mining Forum, which was hosted by the petroleum ministry on July 17 and 18.
During his meeting with Chief Executive Officer of Canadian Aton Resources Inc Tonno Vahk and the company’s regional director Sherif Barkat, Molla said that this company is considered one of the biggest mining companies which is operating in Egypt, since obtaining the concession of Abu Marawat in 2007.
There is fruitful cooperation between Aton Resources and the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA), he added.
The ministry stands fully ready to provide all the necessary support to increase the volume of operations in Egypt, he further said.
For his part, Vahk said that there is a remarkable improvement in the company’s operations in Egypt.
He also voiced keenness on increasing investments in Egypt.
Meanwhile, the petroleum minister met with a delegation from Qazaq Gephysics, during which they discussed the available cooperation opportunities in the mining sphere.
The minister received an invitation to attend energy week in Kazakhstan, which will be held on October 3 and will run until October 6.
