CAIRO – Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi inspected work at the Egyptian Natural Gas Co. (GASCO)’s National Energy Control Center (NECC) to ensure the regular flow of natural gas supplies to the national electricity grid.
This falls within the framework of implementing a program to phase out the ongoing summer power cuts by the third week of July.
In a statement on Friday, the minister said his ministry continues to increase local production of petroleum wealth, including crude oil and natural gas, through cooperation with partners to speed up the development of newly discovered wells and place them on the production map.
The government’s vision is clear, which is to find a radical solution to the problem of reducing load shedding in Egypt via providing finance and working with the electricity, new and renewable energy, and finance ministries in this regard, the minister added.
