Cairo- Kidney dialysis patients nationwide are to receive financial assistance from the government-run Nasser Social Bank.
Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine el-Kabbaj said the fund is a unique initiative and a huge gesture of social involvement by Nasser Social Bank’s Charity Committee.
Each patient needs 13 dialysis sessions per month, to which the government contributes 70 percent to the cost of these sessions, said el-Kabbaj, who chairs the Nasser Social Bank board.
The fund is part of ministry efforts to support the presidential initiative for the treatment of kidney patients and other initiatives for free medical treatment for the vulnerable, she said.
She called on civil society to assist the ministry of health in providing the best health services for patients suffering from chronic disorders.
