The International Freight and Logistics Division of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce took part in the Think Tank for Achieving African Integration, which was attended by over 500 African experts in logistics and transport.
Division chairman Medhat el-Qadi addressed the event on developing Egypt’s logistics infrastructure to promote African integration.
The Suez Canal Economic Zone, which is a promising area for a global logistics hub, will serve both Egypt and all African countries, el-Qadi said.
He also spoke of the expansions at the new port of Abu Qir, el-Arish, Port Said and Ain Sokhna along with the rail network which demonstrate Egypt’s commitment to African integration and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Ahmed Moustafa of the International Transport and Logistics Division mentioned that the Ministry of Transport, acting in accordance with directives from the political leadership, has completed the Grand Port of Alexandria.
