CAIRO – Egypt’s exports of leather and leather products increased by 27.2 per cent during the first three months of 2022, registering $26.917 million, compared to $21 million for the same period last year.
The sector’s exports witnessed a 3.5 per cent increase in March to reach $10.349 million, against $9.995 million in the same month last year, according to a monthly report issued by the Leather Export Council of Egypt (LEC) on Monday.
Leather tanning exports constituted 92.94 percent of the sector’s total exports during the first three months of 2022, registering nearly $25.015 million, the report said.
