Egypt’s latest and customs reforms, especially the Advanced Cargo Information (ACI) system and e-invoicing, were the focus of discussions of an official meeting at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Cairo .

Korean Ambassador in Cairo Hong Jin-wook said he visited Ismailia and Port Said this month, toured the Suez Canal Economic Zone and met officials of the two governorates.

These visits and yesterday’s meeting explore new investment opportunities and open up win-win co-operation between our two countries, he said.

He praised the government for supporting Korean businesses in Egypt.

Maintain this support is the best way to stimulate Korean businesses, the ambassador said.

Finance Minister Mohamed Maeet, who attended the meeting with other government officials, said customs and tax reforms are intended to ease procedures and facilitate the work of companies.

We are keen to support Korean businesses and solve their problems in the light of the new reforms, the minister said.

Egypt wants to attract more Korean investments, the minister added, highlighting the importance of investment for creating jobs and increasing exports.
