CAIRO – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) have highlighted their partnership with Egypt in the implementation of water, food and energy projects within the NWFE program during their participation at the 2023 UN Climate Change Conference, COP28.
NWFE is the abbreviation for the Nexus of Water, Food and Energy.
According to an official press release recently, the EBRD and IFAD produced two films shedding light on the partnership and joint action with the Egyptian Ministry of International Cooperation, national bodies as well as development partners throughout the past year since the launch of NWFE program ahead of COP27.
The NWFE program platform aims to stimulate the efforts of the government of Egypt in implementing the National Strategy for Climate Change 2050 through a specific set of projects based on the interconnection between the water, food and energy sectors, in addition to sustainable transport.
