The volume of trade between Egypt and India in 2021/2022 reached $7.26 billion with an increase of 75 per cent more than 2020/2021, the Cabinet Information and Decision Support Centre (IDSC) said.
This came in an infographic published by the IDSC under the rubric (75 years on Egyptian-Indian diplomatic relations) that depicts the trade exchange between Egypt and India in 2021/2022 in coincidence with a three-day visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to India on top of a delegation of ministers and officials on January 24-26 at an invitation from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The volume of Egyptian exports to India reached $3.52 billion with an increase of 86 per cent more than 2020/2021, while the volume of Indian exports to Egypt reached $3.74 billion with an increase of 65 per cent more than 2020/2021, the IDSC said.
There are more than 50 Indian companies in Egypt with total investments that reached dollars 3.15 billion in the different domains that provide 35,000 direct and indirect work opportunities, the IDSC added.
