CAIRO — Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat said the government has completed 18 integrated development clusters in Sinai to serve local residents and maximize the peninsula’s natural and human resources, in line with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to achieve comprehensive development in the region.
In remarks during a field visit to South Sinai with Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister Alaa Farouk, Awqaf Minister Osama El-Azhari, and other officials, Mashat said the clusters are a model of Egypt’s efforts to localize regional development and promote balanced growth nationwide, especially in border areas.
Each cluster includes housing units, schools, health centers, mosques, commercial complexes, sports areas, and agricultural land reclamation projects, aimed at creating new, sustainable communities and jobs.
Mashat said the initiative reflects the state’s integrated approach to economic and social development, applying performance-based budgeting and equitable investment allocation to ensure lasting impact.
She added that developing Sinai is a national priority and part of Egypt’s broader goal of achieving the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals through decentralization and international partnerships.
