The Cabinet media center denied reports circulated about selling seized subsidized commodities, listed in ration cards, at “Aman” outlets, which are affiliated with the Interior Ministry.
“Aman” Co-op was launched by the Interior Ministry to provide citizens with basic commodities at low prices.
In a statement Sunday, the media center said it communicated with the Interior Ministry, which totally denied these reports, asserting that they are baseless and bare of truth.
The ministry affirmed that “Aman” outlets obtain the commodities from the wholesale companies and the National Service Projects Organization (NSPO) in the Armed Forces.
The center, meanwhile, urged all media outlets to seek accuracy and objectivity before publishing news, advising them to contact bodies concerned so as to avoid sparking panic among the public. (MENA)
