CAIRO – Egyptian Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk headed to Brazil to participate in meetings of the finance ministers and governors of central banks of Group 20 in the country as of Thursday.
This is Kouchouk’s first international station after taking the portfolio of the Finance Ministry.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Finance Ministry said that Kouchouk is keen on adopting the balanced economic discourse by the Egyptian government amid global, regional and local challenges in order to reflect Egyptian priorities in the phase to come.
The minister will tackle the Egyptian visions to back the growth of the world economy and green transition towards the promotion of sustainable finance, development and reform of global financial structure and the international taxation system.
Kouchouk said the Egyptian economy is still affected by global and regional geopolitical tensions, but it has started to “adapt” with these hard conditions.
