The Food Export Council (FEC) said that the food industry sector’s exports increased by 14 per cent from January to July to record 2.384 billion dollars, compared to 2.086 billion dollars during the same period last year.
In a statement on Wednesday, the council said that the value of exports in March reached 384 million dollars, while the exports in May registered 355 million dollars.
As for the value of exports in July, it reached 287 million dollars, the statement added.
The value of food industry exports to Arab countries reached 1.268 billion dollars from January to July, representing 53 per cent of the total food exports, the statement added.
Egypt’s exports to the European Union reached 391 million dollars and stood at 224 million dollars to non-Arab African countries, according to the statement.
