El Masry Group has finalized a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Netherlands-based international organization Farmers Without Borders, signaling a major push to integrate Egyptian agricultural products into European supply chains.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Iman El Masry, Chairperson of Iman El Masry Group, and Dr. Wahaab Abdallah, Chairman of the Board of Farmers Without Borders. The partnership is designed to move beyond traditional cooperation, focusing instead on institutional knowledge transfer, sustainable development, and the modernization of Egypt’s agricultural infrastructure.

In a significant development for the local sector, both parties agreed that Iman El Masry Group will host the Egyptian branch of Farmers Without Borders. This move establishes a permanent local base for the organization, allowing international experts to work directly with Egyptian farmers to implement global standards in quality control, production management, and food safety.

“The signing of this MoU provides the regulatory framework needed to ensure tangible impacts,” said Dr. Iman El Masry. “Our goal is to apply international best practices that support the Egyptian farmer while opening new regional and international trade channels.”

The partnership aims to leverage the extensive global network of Farmers Without Borders—which operates across multiple continents—to empower rural communities and bolster food security. By aligning with these international standards, El Masry Group intends to place Egypt’s agricultural sector more prominently on the global map.

Dr. El Masry emphasized that the Group’s strategy is rooted in building institutional partnerships rather than individual agreements. This approach focuses on:

  • Knowledge and Technology Transfer: Bringing Dutch and global agricultural innovations to Egyptian soil.
  • Adherence to International Standards: Ensuring products meet the rigorous requirements of European markets.
  • Sustainability: Promoting long-term environmental and economic viability for small-scale producers.

The collaboration is viewed as a starting point for a professional “new phase” in the Group’s operations. By attracting high-profile international non-profit organizations to Egypt, El Masry Group seeks to create a sustainable model that provides real value to the national economy and society.
