ALEXANDRIA – The European Investment Bank (EIB) currently works on contributing Egypt’s plan on water desalination, Waleed Salem, an expert of water sector at the EIB, said Thursday.
He told MENA that the bank prioritises water and sewage projects which are of great importance for Egypt to cope with the major national projects being carried out by the government, particularly the presidential ‘Decent Life” initiative.
The bank – in collaboration with the European Union – contributes to financing projects in Egypt, including sewage projects in Alexandria.
The bank is always keen to partake in Egypt’s national plans on future projects, he said, adding that the bank has so far extended 1 billion Euros to support 23 projects in Egypt.
