CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr Amr Talaat asserted economic reform measures carried out by Egypt have had positive effects on upping the State’s capability of facing challenges posed by Covid-19 on several fronts.
Talaat’s remarks were made while participating in a virtual roundtable at Paris forum for peace on efforts exerted to bridge the digital gap regarding post-Covid full recovery steps on Saturday.
The Egyptian official said according to MENA that the country has implemented an ambitious plan to upgrade the IT infrastructure nationwide.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is cooperating with all State’s sectors to carry out several projects aimed at using technology in overcoming challenges posed by the pandemic, according to him.
Talaat added his ministry is fulfilling a number of initiatives for launching advanced digital applications to better serve citizens, up production and support national economy.
He said the government has launched as well several initiatives for preparing digital efficiencies to meet needs of the Egyptian IT sector.
