Prices of meat, dairy products and edible oils in the Egyptian market were relatively stable last month, according to a domestic markets monitoring report for July.
Meanwhile, the prices of poultry and eggs dropped by 7 and 6 per cent, respectively, compared to the previous month, said the report, which was received by Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC) Ibrahim El-Araby on Saturday.
Prices of some vegetables and seasonal fruit have also declined due an increase in the quantity supplied to the local markets, the report says.
However, the report registered a 5-10 per cent increase in the prices of some fruit and fresh vegetables and an 8-10 per cent increase in fish prices, on a monthly basis.
In a press release according to MENA, Araby said that commodity prices were not affected by the recent hikes in fuel prices.
