Egypt topped the list of North African exporters to Nigeria, Africa’s largest economy, during Q2 of the year 2024 with exports recording 55.68 billion nairas.
The imports constituted 39.11 per cent of Nigeria’s total trade during Q2 of 2024, according to Nigeria’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
South Africa ranked first in the list of exporters to Nigeria in Africa with exports valued at 155.62 billion nairas.
Côte d’Ivoire came at the top of list of Western African exporters to Nigeria, with exports worth 63.43 billion nairas.
In 2023, Egypt was among top fuel exporters to Nigeria in North Africa with exports valued at 4.76 million dollars.
In 2024, Egypt has become Africa’s the largest trading partner in North Africa with exports estimated at 6.61 billion dollars.
Egypt’s share of the total intra-African exports amounted to 5.99 per cent.
