JOHANNESBURG – South Africa was among the most enthusiastic supporters of the expansion of BRICS, said Busi Mabuza, Chairperson of the Business Council of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa).
Mabuza told MENA on Friday that Egypt and South Africa’s membership of the BRICS contributes to supporting infrastructure and free trade in Africa.
Egypt took part at the 15th BRICS summit held in South Africa on August 22-24.
The group, which is originally known as BRIC before South Africa’s membership in 2011, works on extending invitation to other countries to join, she said, noting that the recent summit primarily focused on exploring further businesses and investment opportunities.
