CAIRO – Chairman of the Engineering Export Council of Egypt (EECE) Sherif El Sayyad said a program will be launched in April to localize the manufacture of car components and house appliances.
In exclusive statements to MENA, Sayyad added the council hired a foreign body to prepare the three-year program, in cooperation with the Investment Ministry, the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) and the Chamber of Engineering Industries.
The program aims to increase reliance on locally-made components and attract foreign investments to manufacture a large number of production components and supplies at home.
He underlined the necessity of uniting the efforts of all entities working within the engineering industries sector to increase exports and reduce the import bill.
