CAIRO – Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said that the State is keen on enhancing cooperation with African states through strong and effective participation in African groupings and organizations that play a pivotal role in achieving sustainable development on the continent.

Madbouli made the remarks during a meeting of the committee in charge of developing Egyptian-African relations in the presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Finance Minister Mohamed Maait, Agriculture Minister ElSayed el Qusair and other senior officials.

He said the committee was formed upon the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and that it includes representatives of different ministries to enhance relations between Egypt and its fellow African countries.

Shoukry lauded the important role played by the committee in fostering relations between Egypt and African states.

He expounded his ministry’s efforts to beef up the Egyptian presence in the African continent, referring to the current role played by Egypt in boosting development efforts across the continent.

Also, the ministers of agriculture, civil aviation and finance addressed the meeting on suggestions to develop relations between Egypt and African states.

At the end, Madbouli underlined the importance of following up on all suggestions, especially the civil aviation minister’s proposal to grant visas and facilities to host African events.
