OTTAWA – Egyptian Ambassador in Ottawa Ahmed Hafez had a meeting with Canadian Transport Minister Omar Alghabra on means of promoting bilateral ties in the transport domain.
“We spoke about shared interests between Egypt and Canada, and emphasized the strength of the relationship between our countries, based on people to people ties,” the minister tweeted.
Alghabra has served as Canada’s Minister of Transport since January 12, 2021.
Alghabra is the first minister of Arab descent in the Canadian cabinet since Pierre De Bane in the late 1970s, when Justin Trudeau’s father Pierre was prime minister.
