ALGIERS – Egyptian Ambassador in Algiers Mokhtar Warida discussed with Algerian Minister of the Economy of Knowledge, Start-ups and Micro-Enterprises Yacine El Mahdi Oualid means of boosting bilateral cooperation in the field of innovation and small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).
This came during their meeting on Friday, with a delegation from Moharram & Partners (M&P) company attending.
In statements, amb. Warida said Egypt pays great attention to the micro and small scale enterprises and the “knowledge economy”; a system of consumption and production that is based on intellectual capital.
He also expressed the Egyptian startups’ keenness on participating in the international Algerian forum on startups, to be held in December.
For his part, the Algerian minister said that the Algerian government has taken serious steps to back startups and microenterprises, citing the establishment of a special fund to finance these companies, with a total value of dlrs 500 million, in addition to the guarantees provided by the new investment law in the country.
