CAIRO – The exchange rate of the US dollar against the Egyptian pound was relatively stable at the beginning of Thursday’s trading at Egypt’s major banks.
At the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and Banque Misr, the dollar rate remained stable, recording LE18.34 for buying and LE18.40 for selling.
At the Commercial International Bank (CIB), the dollar exchange rate registered LE18.35 for buying and LE18.42 for selling.
As for main currencies’ exchange rates, world capital markets and banks are being affected on the back of repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, with euro prices decreasing for selling and buying.
The euro price decreased between eight and two piasters to register LE19.24 for buying and LE19.37 for selling at Banque Misr and the NBE.
At the CIB, the euro price registered LE19.26 for buying and LE19.39 for selling.
The pound sterling at the NBE and Banque Misr decreased between 24 and 18 piasters to register LE22.24 for buying and LE22.55 for selling.
At the CIB, the pound sterling decreased to register LE22.36 for buying and LE22.58 for selling.
The Saudi riyal price stood at LE4.88 for buying and LE4.90 for selling at Banque Misr and the NBE.
