The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said on Sunday that all banks operating in the country will be closed on Thursday, Jan 1, 2026, to mark the end of the financial year on Dec. 31, 2025.
In a statement, the CBE said banking operations will resume on the morning of Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026.
