CAIRO – The trade balance deficit upped by 21.3 percent to reach 4.88 billion dollars during August 2024, compared to 4.03 billion dollars during the same month of 2023, said the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Wednesday.
In its monthly bulletin, CAPMAS said exports declined by 7.2 percent to reach 3.45 billion dollars in August 2024 against 3.72 billion dollars in the same month of last year.
Meanwhile, imports increased by 7.6 per cent to reach at 8.34 billion dollars in August 2024 against 7.75 billion dollars in the same month of 2023.
