CAIRO – Trade exchange between Egypt and Jordan hit 915.6 million dollars in 2021, up 25.1 per cent compared to 731.7 million dollars in 2020, a recent statistics report revealed.
The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said Saturday that the Egyptian exports to Jordan rose 23.2 per cent to 725.4 million dollars in 2021, against 588.9 million dollars a year earlier.
Meantime, the Egyptian imports from Jordan reached 190.2 million dollars against 142.8 million dollars in 2020, rising 33.2 per cent, CAPMAS added.
Fuel, mineral oils, ceramics, electric machines, and fruit top the list of Egyptian exports to Jordan.
Fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, chemical substances, coffee and tea top that of Egyptian imports from Jordan.
Moreover, the remittances of the Egyptian expats in Jordan increased 3.7 per cent in the fiscal year 2019/2020, to hit 678.5 million dollars, against 654.2 million dollars in the previous fiscal year.
