Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Tarek Amer and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Egypt Hong Jin-wook Wednesday discussed means of sharing the macroeconomic outlook for both countries and ideas to expand economic co-operation.
During the meeting, Ambassador Hong said that Korean and Egyptian economy are showing relatively positive indicators thanks to vigorous efforts of the two governments and the resilience of both peoples despite the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The talks also covered strengthening ongoing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of car manufacture, electronics, railways and textiles.
Both officials said they shared the view that Egypt is a promising market of geopolitical and geo-economic importance.
The two officials discussed how to familiarise Korean companies with Egyptian markets in order to make Egypt a regional hub of their business.
